Interesting and perhaps valuable link there, Nicholas.

I like Dr Furnish and generally agree with him, plus he’s very humorous and a Lutheran. Not much more you could want 😛

Indeed! Part of what I like about Lutheranism (other than it is almost always correct! /s) is that we tend to sit on the divide between Catholic and Protestant and see both fairly clearly. Evangelical Catholics, so to speak. And often with a sense of humor (or even humour).

Yes, which is why I like Gavin Ashenden in the CofE stream. That’s not to say I feel the need to become high church, but it lets me know that there is a form of high church where I would be welcome.

I can only see things getting worse in relation to Islam and wonder about the world my grandchildren will inherit. There are reports of greater numbers (though still comparatively small) converting from Islam. This will enflame fundamentalist. I have heard that since 9/11 there has been so much increase in support of radical Islam that Islamic authorities no longer survey the statistics. One Anglican Priest in the UK, formerly a Muslim, has projected dates for each European country becoming majority Muslim based on current birth rates and immigration. He goes on to map the political and social tactics employed as the percentage of Muslims in a population increases.

Indeed. I am very concerned about the state of the UK and Europe. I have also been following some prophetic voices in the UK and abroad and weighing up what they have been saying about Brexit and what the Lord is doing in all of this. Veronika West is worthy reading. I would say that this is a time of great division in both the Church and society – God is using this storm to draw true believers to Himself, expelling the lukewarm.
