O glorious Archangel Saint Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible warfare which we carry on against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, spirits of evil. Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in His own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Fight this day the battle of our Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in heaven. That cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with his angels. Behold this primeval enemy and slayer of men has taken courage. Transformed into an angel of light, he wanders about with all the multitude of wicked spirits, invading the earth in order to blot out the Name of God and of His Christ, to seize upon, slay, and cast into eternal perdition, souls destined for the crown of eternal glory. That wicked dragon pours out. as a most impure flood, the venom of his malice on men of depraved mind and corrupt heart, the spirit of lying, of impiety, of blasphemy, and the pestilent breath of impurity, and of every vice and iniquity. These most crafty enemies have filled and inebriated with gall and bitterness the Church, the spouse of the Immaculate Lamb, and have laid impious hands on Her most sacred possessions. In the Holy Place itself, where has been set up the See of the most holy Peter and the Chair of Truth for the light of the world, they have raised the throne of their abominable impiety with the iniquitous design that when the Pastor has been struck the sheep may be scattered. Arise then, O invincible Prince, bring help against the attacks of the lost spirits to the people of God, and give them the victory. They venerate thee as their protector and patron; in thee holy Church glories as her defense against the malicious powers of hell; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude. Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations. Amen.
V: Behold the Cross of the Lord; be scattered ye hostile powers.
R: The Lion of the Tribe of Juda has conquered the root of David.
V: Let Thy mercies be upon us, O Lord.
R: As we have hoped in Thee.
V: O Lord hear my prayer.
R: And let my cry come unto Thee.
V: Let us pray. O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, we call upon Thy holy Name, and as suppliants, we implore Thy clemency, that by the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin, immaculate and our Mother, and of the glorious Archangel Saint Michael, Thou wouldst deign to help us against Satan and all other unclean spirits, who wander about the world for the injury of the human race and the ruin of our souls. Amen.

And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they [a]did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him…Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time.

There is good scholarship on the role of Michael as the angel prince of Israel in Daniel and his protection of the Temple Mount. The Orange Mailman has some posts on it too.

Oh, by the way, for you idolatrous heathens who rely on images, Michael and any other angel doesn’t have wings. Show me in the bible where an angel has wings and I will apologize and go away and never come back. This should be a tempting offer to you all.

Correct, Bosco. Giving angels wings is an artistic convention. Cherubim and Seraphim are described with wings though: Ezekiel 1, Revelation 4, Isaiah 6. Michael is not a cherub or a seraph though.

Yes, cheubs have some sort of wings. They aren’t angels. Catholic images give false impressions. That’s why god doesn’t want us to use images.
Im having trouble with my computer and mouse. Im in another site and it wont let me post this, so im going to see if it posts this here. Its about mary being our co savior…..
Benedict XV, Inter Sodalicia, 1918: “To such extent did Mary suffer and almost die with her suffering and dying Son; to such extent did she surrender her maternal rights over her Son for : man’s salvation . . that we may rightly say she redeemed the human race together with Christ.”
Im fond of saying Mary didn’t die for my sins, but the CC says she almost died for my sins. That should be close enough.

Poignant, given The Present Crisis.
Some speculate that we are in or concluding a period of trial of the Church foreseen by Leo XIII. In 1884 Pope Leo XIII fell into a trance at Mass and, it is said, was granted to hear a conversation between God and Satan. Satan asked for75 to 100 years to try to destroy the Catholic Church. God granted Satan’s request. Immediately after this, Leo penned the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel. It is not entirely clear when the period of trial began. If the period was 75 years, and it began right away in 1884, then it ended in 1959, the same year that John XXIII called for Vatican II. If 100 years, then it would have ended in 1984, a less significant year. Maybe the period began later. Hard to say. Some argue that the period of trial began in 1914, the year that Pius X died (today, as I write, is his feast 3 Sept) and the year WWI broke out. That would mean that it would have ended, perhaps around the time Benedict XVI suddenly and oddly abdicated and Francis emerged in such a strange way on the balcony of St. Peter’s.
One thing is clear. There have been huge changes in the Church since 1959 and, again, since 2014.
Job’s job was to endure and learn to love God in his suffering. That’s our job too.

Do Catholics have a prayer about Gabriel? “And as for me [Gabriel], in the first year of Darius the Mede, I stood up to confirm and strengthen him [Michael].” Book of Daniel

We do, Nicholas. This is probably the best known:
O Blessed Archangel Gabriel, we beseech thee, do thou intercede for us at the throne of divine Mercy in our present necessities, that as thou didst announce to Mary the mystery of the Incarnation, so through thy prayers and patronage in heaven we may obtain the benefits of the same, and sing the praise of God forever in the land of the living. Amen.

Interesting. It’s got a divine council feel to it, like Esther approaching the king on behalf of Mordecai and the Jews.

Catholics have been praying thus for a long, long time. I find it strange that as a protestant I never heard much at all about the Archangels except for the tossing out of heaven of satan and his minions and the announcement to Mary of the incarnation of Jesus, her Son and our Lord and Savior. Catholics have held them in high esteem from the beginning.

I think the reason Protestants do not use prayers of this form is that they perceive them to be redundant and/or idolatrous. If you take Bosco as an example, he rejects the Catholic argument that praying to the saints is analogous to asking someone alive at church to pray for you; by extension, he would reject praying to angels. Even Protestants who do not engage with Catholic arguments would probably avoid these prayers on the grounds that Jesus as the Mediator for mankind is sufficient. “Jesus Is Our Mediator. For there is one God, one mediator also between God and men, himself man, Christ Jesus.” (1 Timothy 2:5) It depends on how you parse the term “mediator”, of course. Other Protestants argue that the rule against contacting the spirit world in the Torah means we can only pray to one being in the spirit world – viz. YHWH. Of course, angels did come to the Prophets and Apostles to impart revelations to them, and still do come to people today. Protestants accept that, but argue that such revelations are not to be requested and the contents thereof are to be weighed against Scripture because of Satan’s ability to come as an angel of light. For my part, I am familiar with various angelic names and descriptions because of my reading of Second Temple literature. The average Protestant doesn’t do that.

I find it odd, now that I’m Catholic, to not use all of the Heavenly Hosts Whom God Created to be of service to us and to Him. He has no need of angels and ranks of angels. He has no need of us for that matter. And yet, He thought it Good to create the Angels and to even allow a satan and other angels to refuse His service but rather serve themselves or even oppose God in their own kingdom. God could send them all out of existence with a mere thought. But that is not their purpose and so we must ponder the use: and their use is more for us than it is for God. The evil spirits tempt us and thus make us use our will to resist and to choose God, or choose good over evil. His angels bring us help in arduous times and announce the birth of His only begotten son to Mary and the shepherds. They speak to us in dreams and they will always pray for us (through Christ the only mediator . . . though this Mediator is God Himself) for our needs and necessities. We feel that all in Heaven do the same. Their desire is God’s desire; that we should all be saved and live with Him in everlasting happiness and joy. Why would they not add their prayers to ours if our prayers are as they ought to be? Often we ask for the wrong things; but if we ask a saint or an angel to pray for us or Mary to pray for us, we know that they will pray for what we truly need and for what will be best for the ultimate fate of our souls.

How about Raphael?
O Raphael, lead us towards those we are waiting for, those who are waiting for us! Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings, lead us by the hand towards those we are looking for! May all our movements, all their movements, be guided by your Light and transfigured by your Joy.
Angel Guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet of Him on whose unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze. Lonely and tired, crushed by the separations and sorrows of earth, we feel the need of calling to you and of pleading for the protection of your wings, so that we may not be as strangers in the Province of Joy, all ignorant of the concerns of our country.
Remember the weak, you who are strong–you whose home lies beyond the region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene, and bright with the resplendent glory of God. Amen.

In any case, the constellation of action areas and some study of the role of Michael tells me that a time of great lawlessness is fast approaching. What we will see when Satan is cast out of heaven and takes his wrath out on earth is chaos.

It is why Fatima is of such great importance. Why the name Fatima? It immediately brings to mind the Islamic faith . . . the daughter of Mohammed.
Why in the vision of the three children did they see an angel with a sword with rays light lighting bolts coming from its blade towards earth? And why did it dissipate when it hit the radiance of the aura around Our Lady? It brings to mind all that you speak of and it is a pivotal moment for the world. Fatima was not only meant for Catholics; it was a message for the world and and warning of what is coming should we continue on our present course. And there is even coverup in the Church, in my opinion, about the Third Secret of Fatima.
You can read about it for free in this PDF book that Christopher Ferrara wrote a few years back: https://fatima.org/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Secret-Still-Hidden.pdf

That Michal the archangel prayer left me dizzy. You can pray to who ever and what ever you want. they cant hear you. And neither can they help you. The catholic church has got its flock praying to everything and anything. Good brother scoop claims to talk with Jesus and get guidance from him. Then why is he in a religion full of graven images and idolaters? Im not going to quote the scriptures that prohibit asking the dead for anything. You bible scholars should know them.
