We have touched on the following subjects here at AATW concerning ‘Academic Freedom’, ‘Freedom of Speech’, ’Accepting the Sin right along with the Sinner’, ‘Reclassifying and Normalizing Sins’ not to mention ‘Xenophobia’ – especially popular amongst those who have lost their ‘grit’ to speak the truth whilst it is ‘out of season’ in the Modern Brave New World. NOTE: which is a misnomer, since for all intents and purposes, they know not the meaning of bravery for they are the weakest generation this world has seen to date: for from where I sit, we have a new culture that consists of craven little cowards who throw tantrums if they feel that their precious feelings have been damaged by a word, a glance or an innuendo – college students that require ‘safe zones’ and copious amounts of tranquilizing drugs to keep them from having emotional breakdowns.
Welcome to a culture led by the effete, bolstered up with a pseudo-courage of like minded weasels who have implemented mountains of legislation and laws to give them immunity from having to endure criticism, scorn and outright disgust. This is the post-Christian civilization that is emerging from the ashes of the virile, manly cultures that our fathers hewed in strength and courage and was protected with no less than their life’s blood. Courage, valor, honor, temperance, fortitude, prudence and character have been jettisoned only to be replaced by whining, shrieking, cowering, sniveling little robots who hide beneath the cover of ‘hate speech’ laws, a carte blanche [legally enforced] acceptance of every perversion and destructive force to both the family and to the general character of any normal society which might strive, survive or even thrive in this ‘not-so-perfect’ world.
This overly protected society has never been required to make it on its own, solve its own problems, or deal with difficulties; their parents, schools and governments were there to make sure they never grew up and lost their innocence; reminiscent of the story regarding the raising of Sidhartha who was kept far away from anything that was sad or the least bit troubling. At least least with Sidhartha, reality finally encroached on his utopia and was forced to confront it. I have no indication that the same is about to happen to those who have bought into this new culture of ours; based on wants, needs and desires and never disturbed by truth, faith or reality. It is a utopia in their own minds . . . but only so long as the world won’t say mean and negative things to disturb their sensitive souls. Alas, we have created a world of emotional cripples who are the weakest of the weak and yet have been encouraged to think of themselves as the best of the best, the enlightened, the smartest, the more compassionate and most merciful generation on the planet. We have coddled them with diversity training, and to respect what is not respectable [they know not the meaning of the word yet]. They grew up receiving participation trophies and taught to believe in their own self-esteem.
“I can accomplish anything [not by working for it but by demanding it]. I can be whatever I want [because I deserve it and it is my right and an entitlement due to my sheer existence]. I can even be man if I am a woman or a woman if I am a man. Who is to tell me who or what I am? Only I can be the source of that truth.” The truth is never objective and to butt up against such truths is painful to them . . . and thus rejected and discounted as immoral and unloving lies that are being laid upon them as a ‘yoke’ too heavy to bare.
Well, this generation or their mentors are now of the age to be our ‘fearless’ leaders and they will pander for votes and describe a world of unicorns and fairies, but the reality is far from the truth. The world they paint is an hallucination drawn by the enemies of Christ and His Cross [let them not even contemplate the pains of the cross] and the hell that they create on this earth is not one that I personally will participate in: robot workers, lovers and soldiers, marriage-less, childless, sexless. A world where people are nothing more than domesticated animals in a petting zoo with all their needs taken care of and where the biggest decisions they will ever make is what to wear or what new gadget they will play with next. God help us . . . we have created a monster far more frightening than the original Frankenstein.

Have you seen the video of the psychology professor being railed by transgendered students for objecting to language legislation? Th students keep attempting to reframe his arguments into straw men to attack him, he even explains to them that they are filled with nothing but talking point and nothing personal. He uses logic and reason to cut down their objections and to explain that legislating language is controlling free thought–a step toward 1984. The man is so frustrated because when he breaks it down to even the smallest understanding, the students reply with a talking point rather than engage into a conversation.

Actually, I found it highly entertaining. I only watched three minutes of it.
I think that they raise a very important point: why on earth would anybody want to post 500 hours of lectures on youtube of all places?
It somehow reminded me of the Certifiable State of California of the 1960’s (I was born mid-60’s so I’ve only ever seen the movies) where college students seemed to believe in free love, were out of it on acid for large amounts of time and yet still considered themselves to be radical intellectuals who demanded that their protests be taken seriously – and seemed well able to combine protesting against the system with skinny-dipping, serious drinking and hallucinogenic drugs.
There’s something delightfully American about this. Isn’t it all part of your culture?

Am I following you correctly, as in why would this guy upload this much material without being vain? Of course, this could be my perception on how the rest of the world views Americans, or what I’ve heard.

The point is that the movie was absolutely delightful – and instead of portraying something new and sinister, it seemed to me to be portraying something old and sinister; it looked exactly like something from 1960’s California.
The Jimmy Hendricks version of The Star Spangled Banner sprang to mind as I watched it.
And yes. The professor was the ‘good guy’ here, but I was left wondering why on earth he saw fit to interact with a bunch of idiots whose minds had been permanently damaged probably through acid or something similar – and I do wonder why someone would post 500 hours of lectures on youtube.

Furthermore, I’ve been reading Archbishop Chaput’s “Render into Caesar,” which so far appears to be a prophetic book, in the book, he references Joseph Ratzinger’s essay titled, “Why I am Still in the Church.” In the essay, the future Pope writes, “today an illusion is dangled before us: that a man can find himself without first conquering himself, without the patience of self denial and the labor of self control; that there is no need to endure the discomfort of upholding tradition, or to continue suffering the tension between ideal and the actual in nature. The presentation of this illusion constitutes the real crisis of our times. A man who has been relieved of all tribulation and led off into a never-never land has lost what makes him what he is; he has lost himself.”
I believe this very much illustrates the concern of your post here. Also, Chaput explains that these were Ratzinger’s thoughts a mere 5 years after Vatican II.

Obama’s response reminds honestly of how Pope Francis answers questions, it’s meant to sound ambiguous to a degree that when any point a finger and say, “Hey, look at what he said!” The supporters can call you those folks loons.
If one wants to be an American, they can do so, we can look to even reform immigration and make it a bit easier. After all, my ancestors didn’t have to go through such rigor; however, to come into this country and use the resources of tax payers is stealing, and that’s morally wrong–it doesn’t matter your circumstances, your perception etc. God commanded “Thou shall not steal”
Of course, let those who wish to misconstrue my words as uncharitable be refuted. I would certainly help any immigrant family illegal or not be clothed, sheltered, and find a way to meet legal status. However, I will not support a continued system of theft–again this is morally bankrupt.

It is indeed. The Alinsky video explains this method quite well. The method they use is to divide and to create conflicts between people where there was none before they got involved in their business. Obama and Hillary have both used the ‘coded’ words about Trump being about hate etc. and have warned people about trouble . . . which is to say that they are stirring up violence themselves by such irresponsible language. And what do you know? Here comes the progressive thugs beating up Trump supporters and burning down their local headquarters all over the place. They know what they are doing and yes, they would defend themselves by creating a air of ‘plausible denial’ which we all know is nothing more than a hoax on these people. Sadly, the people don’t even know they are being used. They really do believe these lying pigs. At least knowing how they operate helps keep us from doing likewise hopefully. But when they start conflicts in your own neighborhood it is hard not to get involved in defense of yourself and your family. I do think at some point this is going to spread all over the country and it is happening in Europe as well.

Well this is the angriest and most divided I have ever witnessed in my life by a long shot. I saw it when Obama was elected and hoped that he would disappoint those who elected him and his policies but alas they are as committed to their ideology as I am to our Constitutional Republic. It has only served to make them stronger, louder, and less concerned about those who despise their movement toward a Marxist police state. They will be striking a hornets nest though because I am afraid that we have been forced into a box that we are not going to accept for very long. Thank God for the 2nd amendment which is probably the only reason the left hasn’t made a move to lock us up yet or line us all up against a wall as you say.

All Christians must continue to push the envelope, we must fully reject the pseudo clause of the Constitution that exclaims a separation of Church and State, a separation of faith from the faith to participate in the public square. We must all acknowledge in the words of Fr. John Courtney Murray that “to make religion merely a private matter was idiocy.”
Faith cannot be merely personal and separate from our politics. We must act like it.

For the longest time we disagreed only on government direction, taxes, foreign policy , etc. But now we have lost our core beliefs and moral compass. Getting it back is not something Trump or anyone else can provide . . . it is only a stop-gap measure. We need a second coming of Christ or at least a strong movement of the Holy Spirit in our nation to bring these people back to the culture that they traded for licentious pleasures, entitlements and special treatment and privileges. It is beyond our ability to will it or even convince them by the living out of our faith. Best take to God in prayer and hope that He will have mercy on us for turning our backs on Him . . . in our culture and in our Liturgy. Life is no longer centered around Truths (which means Christ) and is now centered on subjective desires and thus ourselves.

Actually, I come down a lot harder on these people than you do good brother scoop. I give everyone a clean slate at first. If I get confirmation of a persons wickedness, then I believe it. He is leading all you idolaters to the pits of hell. Saturday 9 am he said that he wondered what would have happened to the world if Mary said “no” to Gabriel. You liar false religion hell bound idolaters. I have a open offer. If anyone can show me where Mary was asked her permission to have the baby, I will offer apology to all and never come back here. How could Mary say no when she was told she was gonna have this baby?

Scoop – I’m basically in agreement on the specific issues that the author of the rorate-caeli article cites – there are some horrible things that seem to have the support of the Democrats – for example, all this ‘transgender’ business. As far as I am concerned, transgender is pure sacrilege and those doctor / surgeons who are prepared to chop of somebody’s balls and surgically strap a pair of silicon breasts should be sent to prison for a long time.
My problem with Trump is that I don’t hear any specifics on what he is going to do about these issues. Take any specific issue where you don’t like Clinton (for very good reasons – and I’m probably one hundred percent in agreement with you) – does Trump have any specific suggestions for what he will implement to improve the situation?

He does. He has sworn to try to reverse Roe v. Wade (abortion law), stop government payments of monies to Planned Parenthood that sells baby parts and murders countless babies every year, to put in place Supreme Court Justices that are pro-life and who are strict Constitutionalist and host of other things. That in itself is enough to garner the vote for any Christian that wants to stem the tide of filth that has been poured over our culture though he has mentioned many other things that all are within the arena of turning back the clocks on this progressivism that we are suffering under; transgenderism laws, SSM etc. We have a clear choice even if many do not like the brashness and flawed man who is heading this movement. However, it is not unusual that flawed men are given a opportunity to be put to work for God and His Kingdom both in the Biblical context and in our modern history: how about the flawed General Ulysses S. Grant [and incorrigible drunk] who won the battles that President Lincoln sent him to win. And win, he did, and thus slavery was extinguished in this country. There are many other examples but I think you get the idea. The murderers Moses and David would never get elected to lead a people today . . . but God certainly had a different understanding of their abilities and how they could be used to do His Will.

That is why I am an unapologetic supporter and voter for this sinful man; though I have been guilty of worse I suspect. People change and people can still become leaders of just causes . . . even though they have poor skills in leadership and rhetoric. We must trust that God has given us a choice that will give us an out and that this choice needs to be less pragmatic concerning skills than it does in objecting and confronting intrinsic evils that have virtually destroyed the heart and moral fabric of this country. Let those with ears to hear, hear and eyes to see, see.

I understand that entirely my friend. Living in a constant state of frustration and disappointment is both tiring and a wet blanket on our zeal for the faith. There is no doubt that these past years have been a real test of our faith, hope and charity.

Hard to say. If it is very close in some swing states then there will be recounts etc. and perhaps voting fraud suits that will be looked at. If it is a large win for a candidate we will know tonight most likely. I’m afraid the old ‘pray, hope and don’t worry’ of St. Padre Pio has me struggling with the last bit . . . I suffer from anxiety anyway so this [and Francis] have about driven me to the edge. “These are the times that try men’s souls.” I suppose others have seen much worse but this is the worst I’ve seen things in my own life experience. Even the old cold war scares of nuclear war which I grew up with were not this stressful.

If Hillary wins the next years will be dependent upon the makeup of the house the senate and the court. She will be as progressive as Obama. But a Republican house would mire her down with continuing investigations etc. What is frightening is that she has proclaimed that she will establish a no fly zone in Syria which means shooting down Russian jets; sounds like an act of war to me since Russia is there legally by international law . . . having been invited by the government of that country. She has no grounds to do this lawfully. Can you spell nuclear conflict? I think one is looming if we don’t figure out what the hell we are doing.
