Do thank Fr Peter for modelling for me. I needed to see the folds in a gothic chasuble, and how they fall. Good homily as well, but I was mostly watching the drapery.

I thought his ultra-white running shoes were pretty spiffy too.

They were, but sadly the running shoes won’t appear on an icon.
My Vicar is on holiday and it was very frustrating painting Oscar Romero from assorted photographs online. Now I can paint another one, with a far better idea of the way a chasuble falls. And then I must watch again and listen to what is said instead. : )

Indeed, I’m glad you got something from it. For me, the sneakers were a gospel in themselves.

Well, if you go to St. John Vianney in Sedona the priest who’s initials are JC always wears black western boots to say Mass. That for you Dave should be a Revelation!

Is he a real cowboy or is he all hat and no cattle? ๐

He’s of Mexican extraction…Jose ?

Maybe he started life as a cowboy then. Maybe he will wean himself from the ranch eventually and start to dress like a priest. Both are great vocations but he is now in the better one . . . no need to mix them together as he is a man ‘set apart.’ ๐

Dave, if you’ve worn Western Boots you know they’re the most comfortable things to have on your feet.

I have, as I was born in Texas, but disagree; too hot and too heavy. The most comfortable of all is the Franciscan normal dress of sandals . . . after that, a good pair of light weight sneakers is a close second.
